GUWAHATI, July 12 - PWD Minister Parimal Suklabaidya and officials of the PWD paid a visit to the Janakpur locality in Kahilipara on Sunday evening.
The minister visited the area at the request of local citizens to inspect the streets and bylanes of the area, said a statement issued by the local residents. Locals of the area have been complaining for long about the dilapidated condition of streets and bylanes and the poor state of the drainage facility.
Local representatives, including Dhrubajyoti Sarma, Pradip Das, Samiran Sarma, Dhrubajit Acharjya, Nilima Sarma, Sangita Sarma, Prasanta Sarma, Popy Moni Devi, Debolakshi Sarma, Chakshit Om Sarma, A Bhagawati, Bipul Sabhapandit and Baroda Sarma, raised various issues affecting the people of the area before the minister.
Suklabaidya assured the residents that their concerns would be taken care of by the State Government at the earliest.
