GUWAHATI, Feb 13 ULFA commander-in-chief Paresh Baruahs wife and his children, who are hiding in Bangladesh, are willing to return to Assam but were being prevented by him, former Union Home Secretary GK Pillai claimed today.
Baruahs sons cannot speak their own language. His sons do not know Assam, Pillai told reporters on the sidelines of a seminar here.
Baruah has only two options before him either join the peace process or be eliminated. He will be marginalised in the years to come, he asserted.
Pillai was here to attend a national seminar Sustaining Peace in North East India : Changing Dimensions organised by the Centre for Development and Peace Studies.
Baruahs wife Boby Bhuyan Baruah and his two sons Tahsan Ankur Khan Sunlee and Akash Khan Wanlee lead lavish lives in Bangladesh, intelligence sources said.
Their lifestyle is a cause of discord between the ULFA c-n-c and his cadres who lead a hard life in their hideouts inside jungles and on mountains, the sources added. PTI
