GUWAHATI, Oct 28 � Papon and the East India Company, the hugely popular folk-fusion band froted by multiinstrumentalist, composer and producer Papon (Angaraag Mahanta), today set off on its first ever tour of the Europe with performances in The Netherlands and Serbia.
While Papon individually has performed in Europe in the past, this his the first tour along with his band The East India Company. The tour will start with a performance on the October 29 at the famous Meervaart Theatre, Amsterdam. This will be followed by a performance at the Erasmas University, Rotterdam, on the October 31.
The high point of The Netherlands tour will be the live performance at the closing of prestigious Holland - India Festival at Hague on the November 1. From November 2, the group will travel to Belgrade, Serbia. On November 3, the live performance will be at the famous Dom Omladine, Belgrade. Dom Omladine is a cultural center in Belgrade, dedicated primarily to youth. On November 5, the band will record at the famous Pink Studio, Belgrade for future telecast of the performance in Serbia. Apart from the above live performances, Papon and his musicians will also engage in workshops with local musicians in both the countries, a press release stated.
