GUWAHATI, March 2 - Singer Angarag (Papon) Mahanta has been chosen as the Best Singer (Male) for his Moh moh ke dhaage song from the film, Dum Laga Ke Haisha, at the 8th Mirchi Music Awards 2016.

This was Papons second award for the same song. He was chosen for the award over popular singer Arijit Singh who was nominated for four songs.

It is a great feeling to see that such a poignant, slow song has been appreciated so much. This song and its melody have stayed with the people and it is always a pleasure to be able to sing such songs, said Papon soon after the announcement of the award.

Papon had earlier won the Best Singer (Male) Award at the 22nd STAR Screen Awards for the same song. He was also nominated at the 61st Britannia Filmfare Awards and Zee Cine Awards 2016 for this song.

All these four songs were from big films, big banners and more importantly, they are melodious and soulful numbers that people can always remember, he said.
