Paper Mill employees to stage protest during CMs Barak visit

By Staff Correspondent

SILCHAR, Dec 2 - Disappointed with the Government for not meeting the demands to reopen the closed Cachar Paper Mill, annoyed employees of the solitary industry of Barak Valley have decided to show their discontent before Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal by forming a human chain at Panchgram and Dhaleswari when he arrives here on December 5.

It is the time to seek votes to get over the line in the panchayat polls and the Chief Minister would approach the voters with his sugar-coated promises which would never get fulfilled. His promise to reopen the mills is still not fulfilled and hence we would form human chains at Panchgram and Dhaleshwari to demonstrate our angst and displeasure, Manabendra Chakraborty, chief convener of the Paper Mills Revival Action Committee informed the media on Sunday. He added to say that they would also go to New Delhi during the upcoming Parliament session to voice their demands.

It may be mentioned that the Chief Minister would reach Barak Valley to address public meetings across Hailakandi, Karimganj and Lakhipur during his visit to the valley.
