Panorama Film Fest in Kohima from today

KOHIMA, APRIL 22 � The three-day Indian Panorama Film Festival 2010 will be held in Nagaland for the first time from tomorrow

Organized under the aegis of the Directorate of Film Festivals, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, the festival will screen at the State Academy Hall here altogether 14 feature and non-feature films, including 6 national award winning films besides films from the Northeast.

Informing this at a press conference here, Bhupendra Kainthola, Director of Indian Panorama, said the festival is being organized in Nagaland to encourage film appreciation and filmmaking among the youth and people of the State.

Noting that there are many good films made across the country, including in the North East, he said the Indian Panorama and the National Film Award juries focus on such �lesser� known films that deserve awards and appreciation.

Additional Director General of Field Publicity, Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, A Lassa said that the film festival is an opportunity for the youth to gain exposure in filmmaking which can take them places.
