DIMAPUR, Sept 20 - Nagaland Government has directed deputy commissioners of the State to constitute �local complaints committees� and also designate a nodal officer in each sub-division to receive complaints relating to sexual harassment of women employees at their work places.
As per the notification, the local complaint committee would consist of members to be nominated by the DCs. It said the chairperson of the committee will be nominated from amongst the eminent women in the field of social work and committed to the cause of women.
The notification stated that at least one of the nominees should, preferably, have a background in law or legal knowledge. The government issued this notification in supersession of an earlier P&AR department�s notification, and as per provisions under section 6 & 7 of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.
