GUWAHATI, May 25 � In order that the �Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and Asomor Nirmal Aru Seuj Abhijaan� can be carried out within Assam in a more vigorous and all-encompassing manner, the Governor of Assam, PB Acharya has nominated nine eminent persons from different localities and different fields as members of the committee to initiate and monitor the campaigns in their respective areas.
The nominated members include social activist Damayanti Devi, secretary Kasturba Trust, Assam; actor Pranjal Saikia; student leader Jayanta Basumatary; singer Dwipen Baruah; actress Nishita Goswami; sportsperson Dipankar Bhattacharjee; social worker CT Lukose, Snehalaya; advocates of Gauhati High Court Aminul Islam and Ram Saikia; an official press release said.
The Governor has convened a meeting of the newly- constituted committee at the Raj Bhavan at 11:30 am on May 27.
