Panel constituted to screen recommendations

GUWAHATI, Aug 1 - The State government has decided to constitute a Committee under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary, for screening the proposals and making recommendations to the State government for recommending the Government of India for PM�s Award for Excellence in Public Administration. The members of the committee include Additional Chief Secretary, AR&T Department, Additional Chief Secretary, Home & Political Department & GAD, Principal Secretary, Finance Department and Secretary, AR&T Department as member/convenor.

The award instituted by the Government of India, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, would cover officers of both Central and State governments, individually or group or as organisations and these awards will be announced on the occasion of Civil Services Day every year.

The award will be given in six areas, which include implementation of innovative schemes/projects, bringing perceptible systematic changes and building up institutions, making public delivery systems efficient and corruption free, showing innovation and adaptation to meet stakeholders requirements, extraordinary performance in emergent situations like floods, earthquake, etc., and setting high standards of services and continued improvement, showing high leadership qualities and improving employee motivation, etc., stated an official press release here today.
