GUWAHATI, Dec 26 � A district level paintings exhibition of Jorhat was inaugurated by music director Ramen Baruah on Thursday at the State Art Gallery here.
Organized by the Association of Visual Artists, Assam in association with the Directorate of Cultural Affairs, this exhibition will continue till December 28. It will be open for the art lovers from 1 pm to 7 pm everyday.
A total of 40 paintings and two sculpture are on display. It needs to be mentioned here that the district level paintings have been going on in a series and the organizers hope this endeavour will provide a platform to the artists from rural and remote Assam to showcase their creativity. A total of 41 artists from Jorhat have contributed their works for this exhibition.
Expressing his pleasure for being part of the exhibition, Ramen Baruah said that though he finds it difficult to understand art sometimes nevertheless it inspires him. He further said that all mediums of expressing creativity is different and has its own unique appeal.
