Paddy seedlings distributed among flood-affected farmers

MANGALDAI, Aug 29 - District Agriculture department, Darrang has started distributing sali paddy seedlings of high yielding variety to the flood-affected farmers free of cost. Deputy Commissioner, Darrang, Ashok Kumar Barman on Monday afternoon ceremonially launched the distribution process in a public function organised by the Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer, Dalgaon at his office premises.

Deputy Commissioner Barman in presence of Yubaraj Borthakur, Circle Officer, Dalgaon Revenue Circle, Nila Kanta Deka, District Agriculture Officer, Darrang and other senior officials of the Agriculture department distributed bundles of seedlings to a few selected beneficiary farmers.

According to an official source, seedlings on an average of 25 bundles were distributed each to a total of 200 selected flood-affected farmers under Dalgaon Agriculture Subdivision.
