DUNI, Sept 15 � The Pacheti Mahotsav of the historic Khatara Satra, which is the popular festival of Darrang district, will be celebrated with a four-day cultural and traditional programme from tomorrow.
According to the printed schedule, the programme will start with a cleanliness drive. Other programmes of the day will include tree plantation, nam-prasanga, lighting of earthen lamps and presentation of dadhimathan, hoisting of the dharmadhawjja, and recitation of the Bhagawat.
Every year, thousands of people from various part of Kamrup, Darrang, Baska, Udalguri, Sonitpur and other districts, cutting across caste, creed and religious lines, attend the different programmes of Pacheti Utsav.
