PAC team visits Morigaon dist

MORIGAON, Dec 25 - The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Assam Legislative Assembly paid a visit to Morigaon district on Wednesday and conducted an on-the-spot inquiry about the irregularities in the implementation of several government schemes in the rural areas. The committee headed by Keshab Mahanta, Chairman, PAC, Assam and six other MLAs looked into the rural development schemes at Barunguri, Bhurbandha and Kopili development block. The Committee conducted a study on the irregularities in different developmental schemes. Later, the committee met the heads of departments of DRDA, Irrigation, PWD, PHE, Zila Parishad etc., and took part in deliberations on the implementation of the several schemes in central Assam.
