GANGTOK, July 11 - Over four hundred differently-abled persons including children were presented appliances and devices in a Composite Camp (Samajik Adhikarita Shivir) at Mannan Kendra here today.

Union Minister for Social Justice & Empowerment Thawar Chand Gehlot distributed the devices to the beneficiaries.

The camp being held in the State for the first time was organised by Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India and Department of Social Justice Empowerment& Welfare, Sikkim.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Pawan Chamling stated that the State Government is fully committed towards ensuring equal opportunities, welfare and protection of rights of the persons with disabilities.

The Union Minister assured full cooperation from his Ministry towards Sikkim.
