Though the Congress party has not yet declared the name of the candidate for the seat, yet former Minister Wazed Ali Chaudhury is likely to be the nominee of the party. The AIUDF has fielded Badruddin Ajmal to contest the seat. TMC has already nominated Advocate Nurul Islam Chaudhury as its candidate while the AGP has not yet announced the name of the candidate yet there is every possibility of it nominating Zabed Islam as the candidate from the BJP-AGP-BPF alliance. As the entire constituency is dominated by the voters of religious minority, and the candidates are all from the minority community, the fight among them is likely to be interesting.
