Outgoing Meghalaya Guv interacts with students

SHILLONG, Aug 26 - The outgoing Meghalaya Governor, Ganga Prasad in his final interaction with the student community here has urged them to use the skills instilled in them to cope with the realities of life and to contribute not only to the uplift of the State but also the nation.

Presiding over the 11th convocation of Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU) here on Friday, the Governor reminded the graduates to be grateful to their parents and teachers who have helped them to get to where they are.

Prasad will be taking charge as Governor of Sikkim and Tathagata Roy who was the Governor of Tripura will be sworn in as Meghalaya�s new Governor on Saturday.

The university also awarded an Honourary Doctorate to Meghalaya�s cave expert, Brian D Kharpran Daly and also awarded the university�s first Outstanding Alumnus Award to Lian Khan Siam, a graduate from the Department of Management and Commerce Studies of batch 2015.
