Out of order CSP terminal hits customers hard

By ANN Service

GORESWAR, Oct 21 - Customers of Assam Gramin Vikash Bank, Muktapur branch have been hard hit as transactions have come to a halt at the Customers Service Point (CSP) of Jatiya Bhangara in Kamrup District (R).

It may be mentioned that the customers of the bank from Muktapur, Loch, Pub-par Lokra, Lokra Barnagar, Mahajanpara, Jatiya Bhangara, Sepkochi etc., villages had opened their bank passbooks in the CSP of Jatiya Bhangara since its inception and were depositing money for easy transaction. More than 4000 customers from 15 villages had opened their passbooks and deposited money in the CSP under the supervision of Ranjit Patowary but could not withdraw their own money when it was most needed.

The Hand Held Terminal (HHT), which was supplied by one Senrysa Technology Pvt Ltd of Guwahati, has not been functioning since October 8 last and the customers are facing great trouble. The owner of the CSP informed the matter to the Muktapur branch of AGVB, but no steps were taken to repair the machine.

It may be mentioned here that the HHT machine had earlier also been out of order on July 31, August 4 and September 25 this year.

As a result, the poor beneficiaries of PMAY, Job Card holders and students who had got scholarships have not been able to withdraw money till now. They were also deprived of the pleasure of celebrating Durga Puja due to lack of cash in their hands.

It is alleged that the Assam Gramin Vikash Bank, Muktapur branch has not given adequate attention to the problem of the customers of the CSP, though the CSP was set up by the branch itself. Customers of the vast area have demanded that the higher authorities of the bank and the State government intervene in the matter and find out a solution.
