GUWAHATI, Nov 20 - The Mar Gregorios Orthodox Church, Maligaon here, plans to conduct a gospel convention from November 22 to 25. The church has also decided to commemorate the 114th Mar Gregorios Day, in memory of the archbishop of the Malankara church.
According to a press release issued here by the church vicar Rev Fr Subin Daniel, the convention will start on November 22 at 5.30 pm with an evening prayer.
Fr Lijo John from Kolkata will deliver the devotional speech on all the days. Dr Joseph Mar Dionysius (Diocesan Metropolitan) will be the chief celebrant at the convention.
On November 23 and 24 also, the evening programme will start with Sandhya Namaskaram at 6 pm. Besides, a raasa (procession) will be taken out at 6.45 pm on November 24. On November 25, the programme will start at 7 am with Raatri Namaskaram followed by Holy Qurbana.
Coincidentally, the golden jubilee celebration of the church will be inaugurated at 11 am. This will be followed by a cultural programme and end with a love feast.
