Orientation prog held for sanitation officials

GUWAHATI, Aug 30 - The Water and Sanitation Support Organisation (WSSO), under the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Assam, today organised a one-day orientation programme here on the present version of Integrated Management Information System (IMIS).

A total of 52 District Water and Sanitation Mission (DWSM) consultants and persons responsible for IMIS data updating at the divisions participated in the programme, an official release said.

The objective of the event was to provide guidance to the participants about the changes in IMIS that have been made by the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation, Government of India for the National Rural Drinking Water Programme (NRDWP) and Swachh Bharat Mission-Gramin.

Diponkar Bordoloi, assistant executive engineer (PHE), gave a hands-on presentation on �Introduction to IMIS along with data entry process and changes�, while Hiranmayee Goswami, senior technical director at NIC, Assam State Centre, spoke on NIC intervention in IMIS under NRDWP and SBM-G. Key issues related to data updating in IMIS with special reference to NRDWP and SBM-G were also discussed.

A discussion on financial uploading on FIM ASSAM portal was also held for better understanding of the participants. The orientation programme also provided a platform for open discussion for the participants through a practical session.
