GUWAHATI, Feb 29 - Opposition Congress and AIUDF will try to have floor coordination to corner the ruling side during the budget session of the Assam Legislative Assembly, which will commence on March.

Opposition leader in the Assembly Debabrata Saikia said the Congress party will focus on issues of development, corruption and other unresolved issues and try to bring those to the notice of the treasury benches.

Wherever necessary, we will have floor coordination with AIUDF. We intend to highlight the issues affecting the masses and make the government accountable, said Saikia who is also the leader of the Congress Legislature Party (CLP).

This will be the last full-fledged budget session of the Sarbananda Sonowal-led government. The budget session will start from March 2 and conclude on March 30.

There will be 14 working days during the session. Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will present the state budget on March 6.

Yes, we will try to have floor coordination with the Congress party on issues of common concern, said Hafiz Bashir Ahmed Kasimi, leader of the AIUDF Legislature Party.

He said besides development, economy and other such issues, the party is also likely to raise the matter regarding the implementation of Clause 6 of the Assam Accord and the report of the high powered committee on Clause 6.
