BAIHATA CHARIALI, April 30 - Niz Modartola Rongali Bihu Sanmilan here for the first time is organising an open quiz on the occasion of Rongali Bihu celebrations.
The topic of the quiz will cover Assamese culture, literature, current affairs etc. The programme will be held at 12 noon on May 1 at Niz Modartola LP School premises. The organising committee informed that there will be no admission fee and anyone can participate in the programme.
Separate cash prizes will be given to every question answered on the spot. Interested candidates are requested to attend the venue on the aforementioned date.
At 7.30 am, Lohit Kakati, president of the Bihu Sanmilan will hoist the Bihu insigne on the day. Besides other regular programmes, drawing contest and felicitation meeting will also be held on the occasion. On May 2, a cleanliness drive will also be held at the Bihu Sanmilan venue by the Bihu celebration committee.
The committee has appealed to the public of the locality to extend their cooperation to make the occasion a success.
