Only hard work can take students to zenith of success: CM

GUWAHATI, July 11 - Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today felicitated 131 meritorious students belonging to the Assam Police fraternity who secured 85 per cent or more marks in the Matric and Higher Secondary examinations 2018 at a programme held at the ITA Centre for Performing Arts, Machkhowa here.

The programme organised by Assam Police, was an effort to recognise the outstanding academic performances by the wards of Assam Police personnel and encourage them in their future academic pursuits.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Sonowal while terming the students the human resources of the State, urged them to work hard to bring about much deserved qualitative changes in society. He also called upon the students to strive hard to fulfil their aims and aspirations because hard work is the only tool which can taken them to the zenith of success.

Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi�s reiteration of the North East as the new engine of growth, Sonowal asked the meritorious students to take responsibility through their studies and success for repositioning the NE as the springboard of India�s Act East Policy.

Sonowal also said that Assam Police personnel symbolise dutifulness. They remain on duty day in and day out and ensure security and safety to common people. Like their parents, the students should also dedicate themselves to the duty of studies to bring about fundamental changes in society.

Sonowal, as a mark of encouragement to the students, announced cash prize of Rs 10,000 each. He appealed to the students to imbibe good human qualities and make a society eulogizing the values of humanity.

Chief Minister�s Media Advisor Hrishikesh Goswami in his speech, referred to Dr APJ Abdul Kalam and advised the students to emulate his life to reach their respective goals.

Director of Indian Institute of Information Technology Gautam Baruah and DGP Kuladhar Saikia also spoke on the occasion.
