SONARI, Sept 30 - Nabanita Handique of the Bharatiya Janata Party and Sushil Suri of Indian National Congress filed their nomination papers today before the District Election Officer, Charaideo for the bypolls of 106 Sonari Legislative Assembly Constituency.
Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, State Minister of Food Processing, Government of India Rameswar Teli, Jorhat MP Topon Kumar Gogoi, Rajya Sabha member Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, Mahmora MLA Jugen Mohan, Tingkhong MLA Bimal Borah, Dhing MLA Angurlata, Teok MLA Pradip Hazarika and Thowra MLA Kushal Duwari accompanied the BJP candidate while Opposition leader Debabrat Saikia, Congress general secretary Apurba Bhattacharya and Mariani MLA Rupjyoti Kurmi accompanied the Congress candidate.
Except the BJP and Congress candidates, no one has filed nominations for this constituency for October 21 bypolls.
