GUWAHATI, Aug 22 - The Department of Mathematics, Jawaharlal Nehru College, Boko in association with the Assam Academy of Mathematics (AAM) is organising an online international mathematics festival from August 25 to 29.
The festival aims to focus on different new perspectives of the subject mathematics, its uses and applications, job prospects and contribution to society and mankind.
The festival will include talks, presentations and demonstrations aiming at visualising mathematics, mathematics learning through laboratory experiments, mathematical logic, theory of numbers, mathematics of computational intelligence, mathematics behind data science and machine learning and mathematical modelling approaches showcasing possible interactions of mathematics with the real world phenomena.
It will also include a talk on mathematics studies in Assam from ancient to modern times and a panel discussion on the topic �Issues and prospects of mathematics education in Assam�.
