Online faculty development programme organised

GUWAHATI, June 16 - A week-long online faculty development programme (FDP) programme on e-learning platform was organised by B Borooah College in association with Electronics & ICT Academy, IIT Guwahati (IIT-G) from June 8 to 15, according to a press release issued on Tuesday.

The programme was organised with a view to exposing the teaching community to various tools for effective implementation of the online teaching-learning process.

It was attended by faculty members from DDR College, BH College, Gauhati University Institute of Science & Technology, Hem Chandra Deva Goswami College, Kherajkhat College, Mahatma Gandhi Central University Bihar, Majuli College, Mangaldai College, MIT ADT University Pune, Pt Deendayal Upadhyaya College, Tezpur University and B Borooah College.

The participants highly appreciated the course content of the FDP and thanked the resource persons Sudipta Kumar Nath and Devaraj Mahanta.

Prof Ratnajit Bhattacharjee, Principal Investigator of E & ICT Academy IIT Guwahati, spoke about the immediate and long-term need for online learning, highlighting how it would become an integral part of education.

Dr Satyendranath Barman, Principal, B Borooah College, emphasised the need for faculty development programmes on such topics as teachers have to constantly keep on updating themselves.

Coordinator of the programme Dr Diganta Choudhury, IQAC, B Borooah College, called for greater cooperation between E&ICT Academy IIT-G and B Borooah College.
