Online contest on art, poetry

GUWAHATI, Aug 15 - The Sadou Asom Moina Parijat (SAMP) and Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University organised an online art and poem recitation competition involving over 500 adolescents associated with the Young Reporters� Programme from 10 districts of Assam.

The competition was organised from August 12 to 14.�Poets Juri Devi and Mrinmoy Jyoti Nath were the judges. The top three position holders in the poetry competition were Bhagyashree Kalita, Juthika Hazarika and Swagata Saikia respectively.

In the art contest, Antariksha Chetia secured the top position. Darshana Bhattacharya and Arindam Changkakoti came joint second. Anusmita Handiqui came third.

The art works and recitation performances will be posted on social media platforms on August 15 coinciding with the Independence Day celebrations.

Young Reporters� Programme is an initiative backed by UNICEF Assam to enable youths to raise their issues with decision makers through a newsletter Mukta Akash.
