ONGCL Asian jr tennis gets off

JORHAT, Oct 24 - The ONGCL Asian Juniors Tennis Tournament, for Boys and Girls below 14 years age group, got off to a glittering start today at the Jorhat Tennis Club courts.

In a well attended opening ceremony the tournament was inaugurated by noted educationist of the town Rakhee Saikia. On the occasion, Prasum Kumar of ONGCL, Jorhat and Ankush Dutta, secretary of the All Assam Tennis Association (AATA) spoke about ONGCL�s contribution towards sports and AATA�s future plans respectively.

AATA also presented Rs 50,000 to rising youngster Udit Gogoi, stated a release.

Today�s result: (Boys U-14 singles 1st rd) Hrykpb Bora (Ind) bt Arya Mundhra (Ind) 6-0, 6-0, Arurag Buragohain (Ind) bt Shine Tokas (Ind) 6-0, 6-0, Udit Gogoi (Ind) bt Tanish Nahata (Ind) 6-0, 6-0, Aditya Bhagawati (Ind) bt Nizar Hussain (Ind) 6-2, 6-0, Udbhas Kr Gogoi (Ind) bt Andy Thaosen (Ind) 7-5, 1-6, 6-2, Arunesh Bora (Ind) bt Jeet Dutta (Ind) 6-3, 6-1, Promit Bordoloi (Ind) bt Tanmoy Das (Ind) 6-1, 6-1.
