By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, June 16 - Students from the Sivasagar-based ONGC Super 30 stole the show again with 17 out of 27 candidates qualifying in the JEE main and advanced examinations.

Out of the 17 candidates, eight have qualified in the JEE Advanced and nine in the JEE main for admission into IITs and NITs of the country. After cracking the highly competitive exams, all these students have now become eligible for admission into the Indian Institutes of Technology and the National Institutes of Technology of the country.

The ONGC, Assam Asset, had instituted this CSR project billed the ONGC Super 30 in 2013 under which 30 students of economically underprivileged families are provided 11 months free residential coaching for IIT-JEE and other engineering entrance examinations every year.

While congratulating the successful engineering aspirants, Budhin Deuri, ED-Asset Manager, ONGC Assam Asset, said that as a responsible corporate citizen, it was a humble initiative of the ONGC to support bright, yet underprivileged students from the marginalised strata of the society to crack the prestigious JEE.

He added that the results gave a clear indication that students from Assam, especially from the ONGC, Assam Assets operational areas, had immense potential to compete with the best in the country.
