SIVASAGAR, Nov 29 - All the students of ONGC Super 30 have cracked the JEE Mains Advanced successfully and are now placed in various reputed engineering colleges of India including IIT, IISER, NIT and University Engineering colleges in the recently concluded counselling for the academic session 2020-21.
Four students were placed in IITs, one in IISER, 16 in NIT and 9 in State Engineering colleges.
Since inception in 2013, 35 students secured IIT admissions and 89 students got admissions in NITs and other reputed engineering institutions of the country.
Partha Pratim Das, ED-Asset Manager, ONGC Assam Asset, congratulated the students and said, these successful students are the pride of Assam. Assam has special connection with ONGC, he added. As a responsible corporate citizen, it�s a humble initiative of ONGC to support the bright and underprivileged students from the economically weak strata of the society to crack IIT-JEE, Das stated.
Das mentioned that the result of ONGC Super 30 gives a clear indication that students from Assam have immense potential to compete with the best talents in the country. It is important to provide the meritorious students right platform, guidance and encouragement.
This year, until Lockdown, students were given residential coaching in Sivasagar. Later, the classes were conducted online.
ONGC Super 30 is a residential Coaching Programme instituted in 2013 in association with Centre for Social Responsibility and Leadership (CSRL), New Delhi, under which 30 academically brilliant students from economically underprivileged families are selected every year and provided free residential coaching.
