ONGC stops inward movement of employees as precautionary step

SIVASAGAR, April 3 - As per guidelines of Government of India, the inward movement of employees of ONGC, Assam Asset in and out of the State was stopped from March 23 last as a precautionary measure against spread of COVID-19 pandemic.

Committed to the production of oil and gas to meet the energy requirement of the nation and the State of Assam, the employees of ONGC, Assam Asset are working in the oil and gas fields day in day out despite the prevailing COVID-19 environment. ONGC is taking all measures to ensure safety of all employees, oil and gas wells and associated pipelines. This will also ensure safety of the people of Assam living in the vicinity of operational oil and gas fields.

Production of oil and gas falls under essential services and it is necessary to ensure availability of petrol, diesel, cooking gas and other allied products, which are everyday requirement of the nation and every citizen.

ONGC, acknowledges the unstinted support of the district administrations and people of Sivasagar and Charaideo districts in carrying out its operations smoothly in difficult times. ONGC looks forward for the support of local population in the future too, an ONGC, Assam Asset, Nazira release started here today.
