ONGC opens drinking water project at Dhitaipukhuri HS

SIVASAGAR, Dec 4 - Continuing its endeavour as a responsible corporate citizen and a committed partner in the progress of the State, the ONGC inaugurated a drinking water project at Dhitaipukhuri High School on November 29 under its CSR initiative.

Executive Director (ED) and Asset Manager, ONGC, Assam Asset, Sanjeev Kakran while inaugurating the project emphasised that ONGC has a strong and special emotional connect with the people of Assam and it is always committed for development of the State. The ED further added that ONGC is giving focused attention to empower people through CSR projects and it seeks to work with local people as a team for development of the region.

Addressing the students, teachers and parents assembled on the occasion, Kakran underlined that future of the nation depends on students and �we all have to come forward to provide them the right platform for growth and development, imparting value education.�

Kakran interacted with the students and teachers of the school about various facilities available in the school and how the ONGC can supplement its further infrastructural development. He announced financial support of Rs 20,000 for purchasing musical instruments for the students and assured to extend support towards the existing computer lab of the school for the benefit of the students.

Providing clean and safe drinking water in schools in and around ONGC�s operational areas, is a CSR initiative by ONGC Assam Asset. The project in Dhitaipukhuri High School is implemented by ONGC�s All India OBC and MOBC Employees Welfare Association.

It may be mentioned here that during last two years, ONGC�s School Drinking Water Project benefited more than 15,000 school children in Sivasagar and Charaideo districts.
