ONGC distributes solar lanterns to students

SIVASAGAR, Oct 9 � A programme to distribute solar lanterns to the students belonging to the economically weaker families was held at Bogidol Halua Gaon under the CSR Assam Asset, ONGC, Nazira. A total of 129 solar lanterns were distributed among the beneficiaries in presence of their family members and the local people.

It may be mentioned that the student community suffers badly in their educational pursuits due to frequent power cuts and to mitigate their study woes the solar lanterns were distributed.

Sponsored by ONGC Assam Asset, Nazira and executed by Rupai Development Organisation of Sivasagar branch, the meeting was conducted by Nagen Das and Wasim Ahmed, president and secretary, respectively of the Sivasagar branch.

Officials of ONGC Assam Asset including Indrajit Guha, Shailash Ch Shinha, S Basak, GK Rao, Kamal Chetia, Arun Phukan, Budhin Gogoi, Biren Dutta, Ranjit Chutia, and teacher Umakanta Chutia were among those who attended the function.
