Silchar, March 19: Amidst a fresh spike of COVID-19 positive cases across the country, one new COVID-19 case was detected in Cachar district on Friday.
According to the Dr Ibrahim Ali, DSO, IDSP Cachar, the person affected by the virus was detected following RT-PCR test. While a total of 1,023 RAT tests were done on Friday, no one else was found to be positive.
Meanwhile, sources in the District Health Department informed that so far 11,503 cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in the district with seven new active cases currently in the district. However, 11,458 patients have been discharged following recovery so far, sources added.
