DHUBRI, May 23 - Eighteen-year-old Minati Roy, a resident of Koimari Pt VI village under Golakganj PS who returned to Assam from Bihar on May 13, tested COVID-19 positive on Saturday.
Roy worked as a labourer in a brick kiln at Thakurganj area in Bihar, and started her journey from Bihar along with her husband Monbhola Roy and elder sister Beauty Roy on May 12 via train. She arrived at the Assam-West Bengal border at Chagolia on May 13 and was quarantined at Chagolia mass quarantine centre.
Her swab sample was collected on May 17, and on the next day i.e., on May 18 she was sent for home quarantine. On Thursday, her test reports came out as positive with coronavirus. She has been taken to FAAMCH, Barpeta. It may be mentioned that on Thursday, four more persons from the district were found to be COVID-19 positive.
