MANGALDAI, Oct 11 � A team of police from Mangaldai Police Station with the active cooperation of a Village Defence Party team have managed to arrest one more criminal directly involved in the brutal killing of eminent lawyer-cum-businessman and president of Mangaldai Chambers of Commerce Binoy Kumar Ghosh that took place in the early hours of August 29.
The arrested criminal has been identified as Din Islam alias Kala son of Surbesh Ali of village Keotchuba under Dhula Police Station in Darrang district. According to police the absconding criminal was taking shelter in the house of his close relative at village Sialmari under Dalgaon Police Station and on the night of October 9 last the members of the Village Defence Party of Sialmari village cordoned off the house throughout the night and informed it to the police.
A police team from Mangaldai Police Station led by officer in-charge Inspector Lohit Chandra Rabha and Investigating Officer Sub Inspector of Police Twinkle Goswami carried a search operation in the same village and on receipt of the information the police team arrested the notorious criminal.
Meanwhile, the arrested criminal has confessed his active involvement in the sensational killing. With this arrest, the tally of criminals arrested in connection with the Binoy Kr Ghosh case has gone up to five. However police is yet to arrest other ten criminals involved in the case.
