IMPHAL, Oct 26 - Manipur�s popular health scheme Chief Minister-gi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT) which was awarded the Most Efficiently-Run Health Programme by a State Government, has so far enrolled around one lakh families.
This was disclosed by Chief Minister N Biren Singh while speaking at a function organised to celebrate the successful implementation of CMHT here on Friday.
Stating that CMHT was an outcome of his constant interactions with different sections of the people during his 15 years of public life, the Chief Minister said it has been his dream to introduce a scheme which would help the needy people to receive quality medical treatment.
The CMHT was initiated through a State Cabinet decision taken on October 11 last year and it was formally launched by the CM on January 21, the Statehood Day of Manipur.
Sharing his observation about the health sector in the State, Health Minister Jayantakumar informed that air ambulance service would become a reality soon. The construction of helipads in different districts for the project would begin soon with DoNER Ministry assistance, he added.
