DHUBRI, Sept 24 - Dhubri Police on Monday apprehended one Abhishek Gowala (19) of Charipatty area under Kishanganj district of Bihar while he was trying to snatch a bag containing Rs 1,30,000 in cash from one Ali Hussain at Punch More area of Dhubri town.
Police sources said that Gowala is one of the most notorious members of an Irani group that is functioning in Dhubri area since a few months back and the police have been searching for him for some time now.
Police informed that the accused threw itching powder in the neck of the victim Ali Hussain to unsettle him before making the attempt to snatch away the bag.
