KOKRAJHAR, June 19 � The District & Session Judge Court, Kokrajhar on Friday sentenced one Budrai Kisku to life imprisonment over the killing of his stepmother Mainu Murmu at Haldibari village under Serfanguri Police Station in Kokrajhar in November 2013.
The accused was convicted under Section 302/201 of the IPC. The accused Kisku killed his stepmother Maino by strangulating her neck and buried the dead body in the back side of his house.
A neighbour Murchru Murmu had filed a police compliant seeking action against Kisku. As many as eight persons were examined in this case and today PK Bora, session judge Kokrajhar has sentenced the accused to life imprisonment and fine of Rs 5000/- in default of rigorous imprisonment for another one year u/s 302 IPC.
