DIBRUGARH, June 3 - The second floor of the Medicine Block of the Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) here has been sealed as containment zone after two positive COVID-19 cases were detected in the wards of the floor yesterday.
The containment zone and buffer zone areas have been notified by the Deputy Commissioner cum Chairperson, District Disaster Management Society, Dibrugarh as below:
�The second floor of Medicine Block of AMCH (SARI) has been notified as the epicentre and the floor in general as the containment zone. The entire Medicine Block of AMCH along with its boundaries (North: Cardiology Department, East: Central Kitchen, South: ENT Block and West: Bye Lane/ Ophthalmology Department of the AMCH) have been notified as the buffer zone.
�In view of sealing of the area, strict perimeter control will be enacted in the containment zone i.e., clear entry and exit points to be established, persons entering and leaving the containment zone shall be restricted and sanitized as per protocol. There shall be social mobilization activities with the principles of social/ physical distancing among the population in the containment. No movement will be allowed except medical emergencies and essential services. People transiting will be recorded and followed through IDSP.
�Measures to be adopted in the Buffer Zone include creating awareness on preventive measures such as personal hygiene, hand hygiene and respiratory etiquettes, ensuring social distancing, use of face cover and social distancing through enhanced IEC activities. The order has been made under the Assam COVID-19 Containment Regulations, 2020 and shall be effective until further orders.�

Educational channel launched: Educational channel �Gyan Brikshya�, has been made available in GTPL V&S cable network. The channel was launched today by Additional Deputy Commissioner Nandita Baruah in presence of DIPRO Sulakchana Mithi Kachari at the digital control room of GTPL V&S Cable (P) Limited, Jibon Phukan Nagar here.
The Channel is available in channel No. 276 (Amar V&S). Students from the State can have access to education through this channel. All the contents of the channel have been provided by the State government. Lessons will be imparted by the faculties appointed by the concerned department of the State, a release stated. The class timings will be from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm and 5:45 pm to 7:30 pm, the release added.
