JAMUGURIHAT, Dec 21 - One Madan Kafle (72), a resident of Gamiripal near here died of COVID-19 on Sunday night at Tezpur Medical College and Hospital (TMCH).
According to information, Kafle tested COVID-19 positive at a subsidiary hospital of Jamugurihat on Friday and was advised to undergo home quarantine. But, he did not feel well and was brought to Jamuguri Subsidiary Hospital for better treatment on Sunday evening. Thereafter, he was referred to the TMC&H for further treatment. But he breathed his last at TMCH at around 10 pm.
The last rite was carried as per COVID-19 guidelines. He was closely associated with Asom Nepali Sahitya Sabha, Gamiripal Village Development Committee and other organizations.
He leaves behind his wife, a son, a daughter and a host of relatives. His death has been widely mourned in Jamugurihat area.
