JORABAT, May 31 - A daily wage labourer in Hograpara area of Sonapur under Kamrup Metro district was arrested for allegedly raping two minor girls after luring them with chocolates, police said on Sunday.
The accused has been identified as Moijuddin Ali, a resident of Salkhuwa, Mangaldai in Darrang district, who was staying at a rented house in Hograpara village, an official said.
�On Saturday around 3 pm, Moijuddin lured the minors with chocolates while they were playing. He took them to an autorickshaw parked nearby and committed the heinous crime in it,� a local resident said. Ali was sent to judicial custody today. He has been charged under sections 376 (2) (i)/511 of the IPC and section 10 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, sources in the Sonapur PS said. The locals demanded death penalty to the accused.
