They also submitted a memorandum to the State Home Minister through the Deputy Commissioner of Udalguri. However, though the office bearers of all the six organisations had requested the office bearers of the All Assam Minority Students Union (AAMSU), Muslim Students Union of Assam (MUSA) and the All Bodoland Muslim Students Union (ABMSU) to take part in the road blockade programme to express their solidarity, but the latter allegedly did not respond to their appeal.

It may be recalled here that on July 22, a gang of nearly 12 antisocial elements outraged the modesty of a village woman while she was returning from Dalgaon after submission of her NRC update application form in the afternoon.
