OIL top brass visits Duliajan

DULIAJAN, April 2 � Oil India Limited has produced highest ever crude oil production of 3.57 MT since its inception in 1959 and achieved the MoU target with the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

The CMD of the listed PSU, Nayan Moni Bora accompanied by company�s other functional directors, Baikuntha Nath Talukdar, Director (Exploration & Development), Anant Kumar, Director (Finance) and Ashok Anand, Director (Human Resource & Business Development) were on a scheduled visit to its field headquarter situated at Duliajan to share the company�s performances in the current fiscal and vision for the forthcoming fiscal. And to assess the ground reality the CMD visited a drilling well site at Bazoloni and interacted with officiating employees and officials.

On the national front, OIL according to company sources, is the only company which had started drilling in the block allotted under NELP VI Round and the PSU is credited with successful drilling and testing for production (undergoing) in the first well in the Amguri block acquired in NELP VI.

While on the international front, the company�s performances include the successful drilling of the first well and spudding the second well in Libya, although no commercial oil could be produced yet there was some encouraging feed back which will be helpful in drilling the next 3 wells. And the company is almost in the final stage of acquiring 3 percent share of a discovered producing oilfield in Venezuela being part of a consortium formed with other four companies, IOCL, OVL and other two companies from abroad involving huge financial investment.

OIL reiterated its commitment towards supply of feedstock (Natural Gas) as per MoU to the Assam Accord Project- Brahmaputra Cracker & Polymer Ltd (BCPL) under construction at Lapetkata near Dibrugarh.
