MANGALDAI, Sept 15 � Former champions Oil India Limited Football Club, Duliajan, cruised into the final of the 35th Amba Medhi Football Tournament.
In the first semifinal played at the Mangaldai Stadium here today, the Duliajan team outshot defending champions ASEB Sports Club Guwahati 4-1 via tie breaker.
On a sloppy ground after a heavy shower in the morning, both the teams started well with their speedy attacking style but failed to break the deadlock due to heavy ground condition during the regulation time.
In the penalty shootout, F Warry, Mintu Boro, HL Rawta and Mandilla Rongmai converted the first four shots for OIL while for ASEB, skipper Sanjay Boro could hit the target. Nitu Na rzary, Ramsang Liana, failed to shoot home from the 12-yard spot.
