OIL reach Dugar final

GUWAHATI, Sept 24 - Oil India Football Club, Duliajan beat SSB Siliguri 3-2 in the first semifinal to reach the final of the Suhanlal Dugar Shield Football tournament, organised by the Tezpur District Sports Association, at Polo Field, Tezpur today .

In the high voltage game, the OIL team took lead in the 7th minute through captain Manash Manjit Chetia which was cut off by Manoj Kumar Rabha in 11th minute. Mintu Boro put OIL in front again in the 28th minute. But Manoj again scored the equaliser for the Siliguri based team in the 41st minute. After the thrilling first half, OIL took lead for the third time in the game at the beginning of the second half. Nabin Rabha scored the all important goal in the 49th minute which finally became decider.

On the other hand, the fourth quarterfinal, which was washed out yesterday after 70 minutes of play due to rain, was completed today in the morning season. Jorhat Borbheta FC beat Dimapur Youth Club 4-0. They will face Assam Rifles in the second semifinal tomorrow.
