OIL, ONGC to clash for PSPB soccer title

GUWAHATI, Feb 19 � It will be a repeat of the last year�s final of the PSPB Inter-Unit Football Championship as defending champions and hosts Oil India Limited (OIL) will lock horns with runners-up ONGC in the summit clash at the SAI Regional Centre ground here tomorrow.

In two one-sided semifinals played today, OIL trounced NRL 6-0, while ONGC drubbed HPCL by an identical margin.

In the morning, F Wary (4th minute), Mintu Boro (7th and 51st minute, both penalties), Manas Manjil Chetia (11th minute), Zaidin Hmar (33rd minute), Jayanta Basumatary (42nd minute) were the scorers for the defending champions.

In the second match of the day, Laino Fernandez (4th minute), Tarif Ahmed (9th minute), Jatin Singh Bist (33rd minute), Dhiraj Meher (50th minute), Kailash Patil (55th minute), Srefen Fernandez (65th minute) netted one goal each for ONGC.

The final match will start at 2 pm, while the play-off match for the third position between NRL and HPCL is scheduled at 10 am.
