GUWAHATI, Sept 25 - Oil India FC of Duliajan topped Group A in the preliminary round of the 66th Bharat Ratna Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi Trophy Football Tournament while FC Green Valley virtually made it to the semis from this group holding second position.

In the penultimate match of this group today, Oil India FC trounced Navajyoti Club 4-0 and maintained an all-win record in the group league stage. Mantu Boro (70th and 78th minute) and Tulya Das (79th and 82nd) found the target twice for Oil India.

At Sonapur, in a Group B match, which was of academic interest only, Gauhati Town Club prevailed over Sunrise Athletic Club 3-1. Jitu Ahmed (14th), Sanjeev Bhuyan (80th) and Arman Singha (87th) scored a goal each for GTC while Jengma Rongmei (48th) reduced the margin.

In the semifinals, Oil India will take on Assam Regimental Centre, Shillong while ASEB, top team in Group B, likely to take on FC Green Valley.
