ITANAGAR, Sept 26 - Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu today held a meeting with major oil companies Hindustan Oil Exploration Company Limited, Oil India Limited and GeoEnpro to mobilise additional revenue resources from oil fields in Arunachal.

The Chief Minister welcomed the oil companies to be part of Team Arunachal in order to transform the resource-rich State as an investment destination in the mining sector. He said the State Government is expecting more crude oil production this year, which will enhance the revenue resources.

Assuring all cooperation of the State Government for exploration of oil in the State, the Chief Minister urged the oil companies to maximise benefits towards local employment and expand their CSR activities. He urged the companies to mainly focus on the health and education sectors.

Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, who was also present in the meeting, asked the oil companies to work on skilling the youths of the State as a majority of them are unable to find jobs due to lack of skills.

Chief Secretary Satya Gopal urged the companies to maximise the percentage of local employment to almost 80.
