OIL CMD

By Correspondent

JORHAT, July 5 In a recent submission to the Prime Minister through the Deputy Commissioner, a premier womens organisation of Jorhat, Lakhimi Sangha, has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to appoint Rupsikha Saikia Bora as the Chairman cum Managing Director(CMD) of Oil India Limited, as she has brilliant academic career and sufficient administrative experience for the top post of the Navratna company.

We are greatly pained to see newspaper reports that the appointment of Rupsikha Saikia Bora as the CMD,OIL, has been cancelled by your office. Rupsikha Saikia Bora has been serving as Director (Finance) of Oil India Ltd since 2013. After the retirement of Srivastav, the present incumbent, she was selected for the post of CMD by the PESB from among 15-20 candidates who appeared for the interview in February 2015. But to our utter surprise ,when her name was sent for final approval, your office felt like cancelling her selection for unknown reasons, stated the organisation in its letter to the PM.

On behalf of Lakhimi Sangha, its members Subha Borbora, Kabita Rajguru, Paranti Saikia, Manju Boruah, Deepali Thakur, Baby Sarma and Jyoti Bhuyan requested Modi to confirm Rupsikhas appointment.

We, as members of a womens organization, strongly protest against the injustice done to Bora, and appeal to your august office to reconsider the matter with the urgency it deserves and appoint her in the prestigious post for which she was selected by a competent authority, they appealed.
