Odisha beat Assam in AG cricket

GUWAHATI, Jan 12 - Odisha edged past Assam by 12 runs in the first semifinal of the IA&AD East Zone Cricket Tournament at the Assam Cricket Association�s Barsapara stadium here today. Put into bat Odisha piled up 163 for nine in their stipulated 35 overs. Later Assam managed to score 151 losing all the wickets with two balls to spare.

Earlier, in the morning the tournament was inaugurated by former Assam Ranji player Gautam Hazarika. Deepak Narain IA&AS Accountant General Assam (A&E) and CH Kharsing IA&AS Accountant General (Audit ) were present in the opening ceremony. Biplob Samantray of the winning team was adjudged man-of-the-match.
